Boundaries that fit the place

A footprint on the map.

2D / Geofence

A custom footprint.

Draw a circle or custom polygon around an area. Its boundary is defined in two dimensions, without a height limit.

3D / Spatiofence

A true spatial volume.

Define a sphere or extrude a custom polygon into a volume with height. The boundary encloses space in all three dimensions.

Turn on “3D spatial discovery” in the app Settings for the full 3D experience. When this mode is on and altitude information is available on your device, all discovery modes respect 3D space: the Beam’s single tap, double tap and long press, plus background (Proactive) discovery.

Illustrative shapes. Editor colours are explained below. Designed for outdoor, GNSS-enabled experiences. Use elevation bands that allow for variation in device positioning accuracy; exact indoor vertical matching is not a supported assumption.

Maximum range

The largest radius the category allows. The signal cannot extend beyond it.

Which shapes can I edit in the app?

Set a circular signal radius in the app. Draw polygons, spheres and extruded volumes in TS Studio. Advanced shapes open read-only on your phone.

Can I turn off the signal?

Yes. A body-only veacon sends no notifications and is discovered only with the Beam. Conversely, a geofence-only veacon with no body is found through arrival notifications rather than the Beam.
